Professional Finance Designations

This week I discussed with university students various professional financial designations. As well, potential career paths that the different finance related certifications may offer.

There are a multitude of available financial designations. Three common ones include: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and even Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Robert Half 2011 Employment Survey

Today I watched a webinar courtesy of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Entitled “2011 Accounting and Finance Hiring and Compensation Outlook“, it was presented by Robert Half Finance and Accounting, a financial recruitment company.

Although I have no affiliation with Robert Half, I find that they do an excellent job of surveying employment trends and factors and I greatly appreciate their efforts.

The presentation reviews accounting, banking, and finance employment outlooks in Canada.
